Part 2: Fundamentals
Most of what goes wrong in a golf swing can be traced to something that happened before the club moved. Setup, posture, alignment, and grip are the pre-conditions on which every other fundamental depends — and the grip is the most foundational of all, because it is the only place where the player and the club actually connect. This part covers them in order of leverage: the grip first and in the most detail, then the setup — stance, posture, ball position, and distance from the ball — and finally aim and alignment. None of it is the most interesting subject in golf, but it is the most consequential place to build correctly from the start. Players who skip these steps spend years compensating for problems they could have solved in an afternoon.
